***********DJ FEATURE***********
DJ Geronimo has been a member of KMNR since fall 2010 and is the current Business Manager. You can catch his show Takin It to The Streets, Fridays 4pm-7pm.
Describe your show in 5 words: “Tune in and Turn it Up”
Genres played: White Boy Reggae, Punk, 3rd wave Ska, Electronica
Favorite Album: The Offspring: Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace
Yeah, as individual songs, this certainly isn’t the best album in the world, and there are better artists in my library than the Offspring, but something about listening to this album beginning to end is just great. If I am in a downer mood and just need to depressurize, this is the Album I choose. The emotions it invokes range from self-pity to self-destruction to regret and finally to acceptance and peace. it can take any shit day and make it at least okay. I highly recommend you listen to this next time you feel like the world is trying to break you down
What is your favorite part about being a DJ?: You guys, the listeners. DJ’s have a bad habit of occasionally forgetting they are here to entertain you, not themselves (I’ll be honest, I do it plenty myself) but when it comes down to it, I do what I do because of you. If I introduce one person to a new song,or play an old favorite they haven’t heard in ages that improves their day, then that was a worthwhile radio show for me.
Would you consider yourself passive, aggressive or passive agrressive?: Passively work to be Aggressive, usually settle for passive aggressive.
Favorite quote or saying: “I came here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I’m all out of bubblegum”

………………….DJ FEATURE………………….
DJ Cosmos trained back in Fall 2009 with a massive 11 semester shows under his belt and a former Executive Board member, you should definitely tune in to his show, Cosmic Jive in the late night hours of 2am-4am. If you are up late studying or just getting in from a night after Thirsty Thursday, turn your dial to 89.7fm or pull up the web stream from kmnr.org.
Describe your show in 5 words: Out of this world groovy.
Genres played: Rock&Roll of all types, mainly blues, classic, psychedelic. Jazz, Classical, Experimental. A little bit of everything.
Favorite Album: Demon Days from Gorillaz. Hard choice but I’ve listened to this album hundreds of times and it never gets old. It is perfectly written and produced, soulful and full of meaning, and funky as hell.
What is your favorite part about being a DJ?: Being friends with the other DJ’s and being able to go to the best place on campus just to hang out/listen to music/read/sleep/whatever whenever I want.
Would you consider yourself passive, aggressive or passive aggressive?: Passive.
Favorite quote or saying: “Space is big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the drug store, but that’s just peanuts to space.” - Douglas Adams, from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. One of the funniest books ever written, and a great work of Science Fiction. The quote speaks for itself.

—-Getting to know the KMNR Executive Board—-
Dr. Schramm is KMNR’s faculty advisor, he has been a member of KMNR Since 1988.
What do you enjoy most about KMNR?: The students
What are your duties and responsibilities?: I am all seeing and all powerful.
What do you enjoy most about your position?: Getting the chance to help the students in KMNR achieve their goals.
You can catch Dr. Schramm live on KMNR Wednesdays 10-11am with The Dr. S Musical Explosion, he plays what I want.
All of the KMNR DJs agree that we couldn’t have asked for a better faculty advisor. He is always there to help us in anyway he can and he was a member of KMNR during his college days, bringing his “all seeing and all powerful” skills to make sure things are running smoothly. We couldn’t do it without him!

For 40 some odd years I’ve been doing whatever the man told me to. Now, for an hour a week I play what I want to, the man be damned.

In about 2 weeks you all have the opportunity to see 3OH!3 and The Ready Set, thanks to SUB Concerts - Missouri S&T! Luckily DJ Peacock thought to ask about getting a live interview with the band. So you can catch an interview with 3OH!3 on air before the concert!
