Is it too early to remind you that it’s Valentine’s day? It’s true, good thing I reminded you, better go get that last minute gift-- think flowers, chicks dig flowers. In honor of the day, I’ll impart to you a verse I wrote, ahem:
On this fake holiday for love, so renowned, Pretended since Roman Lupercal origins were found, One usually declares Love, or lets it presence resound, Likened to a music box only once a year wound! But as some deem it necessary for only rare expression, for half-hearted Hallmarks with gradual regression, I have no guilt or hard heart! For it is MY impression, All days are wont for such illumination!
Did you like that? Thank you, thank you, I wrote it myself. But seriously, Valentine’s Day… is a joke. But, it would be a good idea to go out and stimulate your economy today. Either way, I have, for the next 2 hours, lined up for you, a host of Love related songs, but don’t panic. I can feel you panicking, really, don’t.
Because yes, every song is about love, and most of them have it in the title, but they’re hardly gushy and gross. Some are humorous, some are bashing the idea, and others relate the thoughts of the criminally insane. And they’re all coming up on this playlist I’ve decided to call, Visions of Seraphim.

This week, in honor of black history month, I've compiled some of the most classic blues and soul for your listening pleasure, as well as a few well-known black American poets that I've scattered around in here. Sure to be satisfying, yet weary and lamenting at the same time.

It’s arranged in a sort of chronology, starting with a few songs about hard times, vaguely reminiscent of prisoners, and flows all the way up through the Mississippi river delta, through Martin Luther King’s era, and ends up as some more recent soul music towards the end. I have it all packed into the next 2 hours, so stay tuned for that thick feeling in your chest that can only be inspired by the artists of a revolution.

I’ve had some recent conversation lately about how dull this town can seem sometimes. Math and science is great an all, but you need some art, some philosophy, some imagination stimulation, some LOGIC with CONTEXT, you know? And here at KMNR, we do our best to insert that bit of color into your every day.
Well this week’s colors are sure to paint a thick gloss on the sleep-washed canvas that is your mind. I call it, EPIC STORIES. I’ve created a playlist composed entirely of some of the best classic rock stories I have in my possession. I tried to fit in as many as I could in the 2 hours I have, and the ones that made it are all either philosophically epic, or just generally fun and adventurous.
So let’s wake up with some epic.
